I'm Afraid to Take BART

P.B. Commented: “ I stopped taking my dog on a walk before bedtime. I feel like I have to prepare for war and might not make it home when I go to the Strand, Orpheum or Golden Gate theatres. I am afraid to take BART when it will put me at the BART stations after dark.

I am much more concerned about crime and safety now than even a few years ago. We should Increase the police budget to hire more officers for neighborhood patrols. Invest in nonprofits focused on root causes of crime, but not at the expense of police budgets. If hiring new officers, they must be diverse and look like the residents they will serve.”
